The Victory Theatre

I believe in the purity, the simplicity of stripping yourself of everything you are, just to attain, or don the role of someone else... it takes a lot to do that, and STILL retain a bit of your own individuality. thats the mark of a great actor.

Acting Exercises.

One of the few workshop exercises i really like, is the Interrogation.

Each actor is made to sit on a chair, while the rest of the cast surrounds him or her.
Now the actor is told to completely reflect the character he's playing. In the sense, ur not supposed to act as the character, ur supposed to be him. therefore if someone talks to u, u hv to answer in a way that character would answer. Something as simple as "How's the weather" has to be answered as if the character has come alive and is sitting in front of u.. !"
This helps in getting a grasp of the character's psyche, and helps the other cast members understand the character they are grilling, also keeping in mind that they are gona be grilled next.

More such exercises to come.
